"Anna, why don't you tell us why you're here?" Kyle says. I hesitate. I'm not good at being open.
"Pass." I say. Kyle gives me a look and shakes his head, telling me silently that there are no passes. I sigh before looking up and reluctantly saying, "I'm here because, in my sophomore year of high school, I became addicted to drugs and alcohol."
_

Anna Fields is ready to move on from her past of drug abuse and alcohol addiction. She's been in rehab for the past year and a half, and everyone at Elliot James High School knows it...which is why she decides to move to the other side of the country.
She will now be living in a sobriety house, and will be attending Alcoholics Anonymous twice a week, thanks to her sobriety counselor. Oh, and she's going to a new school, Riverside High, where nobody knows about her or her past, so she can move on.
  Well, that was the plan.
Unfortunately, Ace Michaels, Riverside High's very own golden boy, knows Anna's secret...well, that she's keeping one. And he's not above blackmail.
Ace decides to use Anna's secret, that she thinks he knows, to his advantage.
But will he take it too far?

I began writing this at 15 and finished it at 17. It is my first novel, give me grace for that. [Warning: this book contains explicit content, crude language, drug use & abusive scenarios.] He tried everything, everything, everything to forget her. No matter how hard he fought, the memories wouldn't fade. She wasn't some dream girl, she was the dreamy one who taunted him. A blonde viper that shattered every part of him. But picking up the pieces? That's the part he never thought he'd get around to. Ace Valentino doesn't do what people expect-he's the guy who walks on the wild side just because he wants to. A brooding young man with a dark side fueled by brokenness, addiction, and bad decisions. His heart is still held hostage by his stoic, adrenaline-obsessed ex. How could he move on with that? It isn't plausible. So, he drowns the pain with alcohol and anything that numbs him. But Ace has secrets, ones he vowed to bury forever. Then, his new neighbor moves in and suddenly, something inside him stirs-something he's not ready for, and everything he's terrified of. Willow Andrews, sweet yet scarred, knows nothing but loneliness. Her guardian's abuse has built walls around her big heart. Love is a stranger to her, and she's afraid of what she doesn't understand. But something about Ace, the tortured soul next door, draws her in-despite the fear. In a world where love is something they can't quite reach, Ace and Willow collide. What could possibly come of this? Can they save each other, or will their pasts break them before they have a chance? The line between magic and misery is thinner than they think-and the change they both desperately need might just be the thing that destroys them, or... sets them free.

Being alone? Check. Being afraid? Check. Being abused? Check times 3. Honestly, my life wasn't this bad before, not until I ended in foster care... SIKE! My life was always bad. From the moment I was born, I lived with an abusive father who blamed me for my mother's death, and even I couldn't disagree with him. Here are a few questions I am constantly asked: 'Do I do well in school?' No, are you kidding me? The only subject I'm good at is Visual Arts. 'Do I have a kind and caring family?' No, I don't think I do. 'Do I have anyone who cares about me?' No, I'm a loner and socially awkward. 'Do I have privileges?' No, if you haven't understood the message yet, I live in an abusive household. Now, you might ask if there are any questions the answer is yes. I'll give you some. 'Do I want to die?' Yes, I sometimes do. 'Do I feel alone in this world?' Yes, always. 'Do I get a beating every day?' Yes. *** This is Amara Williams, a 13 year-old with average grades and no friends. What happens when her only guardian, her dad, is dead? What happens when she finds out that she has five older brothers who are not only strict and demanding, but also protective assholes? "I know what you're doing," I said, pointing my spoon at him and he cocked a curious eyebrow, "Is that so?" I nodded as I spooned more pudding into my mouth and straightened my back, "You're trying to intimidate me, make me spill my secrets. I have none so your psychology-ridden methods won't work on me." "I don't buy it," he grinned mischievously and I shrugged, "There's not a price." He walked towards me and placed his hands on either side of me on the counter, leaning in so almost our noses were touching. I cleared my throat and shook my head, "Elliott, you have to stop." A smile graced his plump lips as humor danced in his eyes, "And why's that?" I wriggled out of his stance and hopped off of the counter, eating another spoonful of the delicious goodness, "I want to see where things go with Dean. He's your brother so why are you doing this?" "Doing what?" He asked, knowingly. He asks so many questions. "That thing you do. That smile. Your touches. The way you look at me, Elliott, please." --------------- Cameron Moore, a troubled girl from a small town in England, flees her dark past and wounds up living in her sister's house in America to attend university. Will she stick to her promises or will she give into her love affairs even after everything that happened to her back in England? #1 in Recovery on 5/15/20 #6 in CollegeStory on 9/20/21

I ran downstairs into the living room, my heart pounding as I found all my brothers gathered around Nefeli. Her eyes were frantic, scanning the room, desperately searching for me. The scream that bastard had let out earlier must have reached her... The moment our eyes met, she practically threw herself at me, wrapping her arms around me so tightly I could barely breathe. I stood frozen for a moment, unsure of what to do. I hugged her back anyway... Even though I had no idea what was going on. "Thank God you're safe" she murmured in my ear, her voice trembling, leaving me even more confused. I glanced at my brothers. They all looked just as lost as I was. Except for Aiden and Alex. They were motioning for me to hold on. "Of course I'm okay, Nefeli. What happened?" I asked, my heart tightening. I hated seeing her like this, so worried and panicked. "I-I heard Alex and Aiden talking in Italian!" she stammered, her eyes wide with panic. "They said something about the Mafia! Are we being threatened by the Mafia?" Her voice cracked, and tears threatened to spill from her brown eyes. The room fell silent for a moment. My brothers exchanged looks, and then, without warning, we all burst into laughter. Nefeli stared at us, completely confused. Cole, finally calming down, wiped his eyes and looked at her with a smile. "Love" he said, his voice smooth, "we're not being threatened by the Mafia." he let the words settle in the air for a second. "We are the Mafia." • • • _______________________________________________________ ⚠️ DISCLAIMER ⚠️ Mentions of abuse, violence, harsh language, bad mental health, and light depression!
