In the world, there's a dangerous game called the Hunt. Certain people are chosen to be the Hunters, and hone their Hunting skills to survive in the cutthroat world of the adults. Others, the unlucky ones, are chosen to be the Hunted. Every teenager must join the Hunt. It's a rite of passage. The Hunt doesn't end until you either win or lose. Every youth has to live their life very carefully, so as not to end up being on the Hunted side, the wrong side, which means almost certain death. 

One teenager, Emeline Hayworth, has tried to hide herself away from everything and everyone else, living and learning from her everyday isolated life. She wishes to have no part in the Hunt. But when Emeline makes a big mistake, she ends up being discovered, and her mistake puts her on the wrong side. The Hunted side.
