Madeline Cross was born in Omaha, Nebraska but after her father's death and her mom checked herself into a rehab facility, she was force to move in with her Aunt Joyce in Washington.
After being gone four years, Madeline returns to Omaha but things have changed. Her friends, the community, the scenery, her neighbors. Madeline isn't sure if she knows how she'll adjust. Especially not when the nerdy goof ball that she remembers from grade and middle school is now always on her mind.
