Evelyn, a girl adopted into a wealthy family, is in way over her head. Her family's occupation and her own personal love for Egyptian history led her to Cairo, where she enrolled as a student to further her dreams of becoming a certified egyptologist. When her fathers excavation team discovers a pharaohs tomb, they unknowingly enact a curse that changes her life.
Sent back 3,000 years to ancient Egypt with her sister Carol, they soon become embroiled in the affairs and politics of the royal family and neighboring countries.
Taken as slaves to the palace, Evelyn and Carol serve the young Pharaoh Memphis, who's tomb their family excavated in the future. While adjusting to a completely different language, culture, and well let's be honest, social class, Evelyn manages to catch the eye of the King, who's infatuation with her runs so deep, he would stop at nothing to keep her close.
Fighting off an arrogant, violent, and admittedly handsome Pharaoh, trying not to change the future, dealing with a psychotic priestess, keeping her sister from doing something she shouldn't and searching for a way to get back to the timeline they actually belong in, Evelyn has her work cut out for her. Determined to go home, she won't stop until it kills her.
