Please if you have not read my first story The Immune (The Walking Dead/Carl Grimes fanfic) go read it before you read this one! 

Eight months after the tragic night that traumatized Casey Jones.  She's was different, no one could look her in the eye.  She stayed silent for a while, only talking when talked to.  She has nightmares every night of that night eight months ago.  She and Carl never talked about what happened before she ran into the woods saving everyones life.

They feel they found a safe place to stay for awhile until trouble comes their way again.  They have to fight and keep Casey alive in hope she will be the cure of this disease.  Loosing and gaining people they still go on.

Even though people they love die, there's one thing that will never die, their love for each other.  Who's going to become closer while others drift apart? Will Casey fall under pressure or stay strong? Or will she watch everyone she loves die?

Casey doesn't really want to face the outside world, especially since her father seems so keen on staying until the end, but she also doesn't want to die in that building at the young age of twelve. All she finds herself doing is training, waiting, and hoping that something happens. So, when Rick Grimes and his group enter the CDC wanting help, it seems like her prayers were answered. Leaving the building and stepping into a walker-infested world after losing what's left of her family isn't the easiest thing to do, but she has a new group of people ready to help her. But still, something for the pain would always help, and the boy with the pretty eyes seems like a good enough distraction. They say the world is over, but I'm still here. If it's the end of days then why are people still alive, maybe the world isn't over perhaps they just have to learn how to survive in this new world. For Lexi Grimes that is a lot easier said than done. Her father was shot a week before the dead began to rise. Now Lexi has to be strong for her little brother Carl and their mother, Lori. Lexi was the one that got her brother and mom packed and ready to leave. While her mom was grabbing family albums and her brother was grabbing comic books, Lexi grabbed her Springfield Sniper, extra ammo, and her silencer. As well as any food that would last a while. She was already pulling out of the driveway to go get her father when Shane came in behind them, driving like a bat out of hell. Shane told them that Rick was dead, and he came to get them to safety, but Lexi didn't want to believe him. Shane had to physically stop Lexi from getting back in their car and driving to the hospital. The only thing that truly stopped her though was the look on her little brother's face, he needed her now more than ever. They never made it to Atlanta though and now Lexi has to navigate a world where the dead walk. Season 1 (Complete) Season 2 (In progress)
