It's 1791 and Everly is living a normal teenage life in her small quiet village. But everything changes when her house gets broken into one night when her parents were out gathering firewood. Surrounded by nothing but blackness, Everly needs to save the village from being taken over by creatures they call "The Quiet Ones". Though she may have become blind, The Quiet Ones have chosen her to fight for the village. Finding the legendary Tree of Thorns is difficult enough for a young blind girl, but having to kill another villager with a sharp thorn is more than Everly can handle.
