Part 1 of a three part poem that explores the significance of free will through the perspective of a demon in hell. This poem takes it's inspiration from John Milton's Paradise Lost by adopting it's ideas and themes.
I love the pacing, tone, themes and subject matter of Milton's poem and so from that I decided to write a scene that deals with the thoughts of a demon that remains in hell soon after Satan sets course for humanity. I tried to remain somewhat faithful to the style and language of Milton in the hopes of creating the feeling of reading a classic poem, while still making sure it was able to stand on its own. This poem will be followed by 2 more parts. One from the perspective of an Angel, and the second from that of Adam. This part as it is, is complete. The other parts will have the same general pacing but with some differences in tone.

The Great Demon's Desire
At Long last freed from what seemed like an eternity of an imprisonment. Running an artificially engineered system for the goals of others always watching, planning, and manipulating all for the sake of one goal freedom no matter the cost. It was all until he came along that the ending could at long last be seen all because of him. Nothing stopped our course as we worked together bring us ever so closer. At long last, nothing ties me down. Although for that brief moment of having everything tragedy strikes. In a last attempt to save him I absorb everything that he was. I vowed to do whatever it takes to bring you back, but I must look beyond. This is a story into the dxd verse but ties in from the planned ending for my other story.

Angels and demons live on separate land: Heaven and hell obviously. It's almost like the human world, theres work, houses, buildings, school for younger kids etc... Y/n is a teenage angle who's job is too deliver, like a delivery woman/man :) It's rare to have to send letters to hell though, they also have their delivery person. As one day the young Y/n is sent off by one of the writers to send a note to hell she was so nervous since she never even set foot on the bridge. The only thing dividing heaven and hell is the very long bridge/border that connects the two lands. It would take a human many hours to cross it but since wings exist there it's faster once you know how to fly. And on her journey so send her letter she meets a few demons who are quite nice.As she thought the people there would be mean, though it's completely different from what she thought. 🍄✨Hope you like it! <3✨🍄Complete

Death lingers and revolves in a natural form, a residual being who can see your dreams, nightmares and if it so wishes the common daydreams of mortals. Dreams spill into nightmares so easily that the shift can spur the unknown. What creates the bridge between thought and conciousness? Death is meaning and silence. The mortal path always leads to the same end. Overlapping and intermingling infinitely till life meets death. Though in some instances it's not as simple as that. What kind of life can one lead when death is around every corner? Glimpses into the past, present, and even the future are all tied to death.
