If high school is supposed to be the best years of our lives, why is the majority of the high school student population so eager to leave the place? That was a rhetorical question, but I personally have an answer- it's because, like many other places on earth, high school is a prison. In fact, earth itself is a prison. We all work our asses off until we get to the next level of success, and once we get there, we have to start over and work our asses off even more until we get to the next level. Like prison, everyone is in a competition to get to the position of being top dog. I really don't give a shit though; my high school is filled with a bunch of jockish immature assholes. I could care less what they think about me. All I'm trying to do is work my ass off to get an art scholarship to get the hell out of this Oregon Pacific Coast piece of shit town. I have such high hopes for my future and absolutely none of it involves staying in Astoria. Yeah, I've gotten letters from colleges, but I'm waiting until I get one from the Chicago Art Institute. I have four months until graduation and like every other high school senior, I'm ready to get the hell out of here.
