This is actually a project I did in my 10th Grade Honors English class. The assignment was to write a creation myth, which is basically a short story explaining how something came to be. For example (not to start any religious arguments or anything), the Christian belief of God creating the world in 7 days is a creation myth on how Earth was created. In this case, I am writing about how both the Crow and the Parrot got their colors.

Rain isn't the church-going type. She's been burned out by her previous congregation, who judged her because of her family's decisions and lifestyles. Her teachers in school speak about evolution, and Rain pretty much agrees with what they're saying because she's never heard the story of Creation in Genesis 1. But then her friend from work, Emily, invites her to church camp, and Rain agrees to go. What will she think when the youth pastor contradicts everything she ever thought to be true? The earth was created in 7 days, including a day for the Lord to rest, he says. And now these 7 days of Encounter Camp are about to change Rain's whole perspective. || first book in the "Encounter" series ||
