Iris Waters is not exceptionally book smart, nor is she courageous. She has no friends to be loyal to and no reason to execute hard work. Also, Iris Waters is Muggle-born.

So why did the Sorting Hat place her in Slytherin?

Iris's theory: her qualities eliminated the possibility of being in another house, and the Sorting Hat does not see your blood but your brain.

Therefore, she has no friends in other houses because she is a Slytherin, and no friends in Slytherin because she is Muggle-born. Not to mention, the constant, narcissistic drone of Draco Malfoy is hellbent on letting her know why she doesn't belong in the Slytherin picture.

But, in Iris's fifth year, the Ministry of Magic brings in a reign of terror and lies into Hogwarts. All Iris wants to do is fight for what's right and prove that the Ministry is telling lies about the Dark Lord's return. But will Harry Potter and his friends reject her pleas to join them because of her clashing backgrounds? Or will they let her fight alongside them, despite the green emblem on her chest?

Fifteen-year-old Madeline Potter has spent her life hidden away, overshadowed by the legend of her brother, Harry Potter. When she finally arrives at Hogwarts in her fifth year, she expects to be sorted into Gryffindor, to finally belong at his side. Instead, the Sorting Hat makes a choice that shocks the entire school-Slytherin. The Great Hall falls silent. Harry's face is frozen in disbelief. The Gryffindors whisper, the Hufflepuffs glance at each other warily, and the Ravenclaws analyze the implications. But the worst reaction comes from her new house. The Slytherins sneer. She sees the disgust in Draco Malfoy's glare, the cold judgment in Pansy Parkinson's smirk. A Potter among the snakes? A betrayal of everything her brother stands for. The first weeks are hell. Whispers follow her down the corridors. Some Slytherins ignore her. Others want her gone. Harry, Ron, and Hermione are wary-Why Slytherin?-and Harry's distant confusion stings more than she expected. But then, something shifts. Mattheo Riddle, dark, unreadable, and carrying a surname that terrifies most, doesn't sneer at her like the others. Theo Nott and Blaise Zabini don't shun her completely, watching her instead, testing her. Even Lorenzo Berkshire, ever the enigma, seems curious. Pansy, instead of tearing her down, extends an unexpected invitation-because, as she says with a smirk, if you're going to survive Slytherin, you'll need friends. Even Draco, reluctant and cold, starts seeing her differently when she refuses to back down. As Madeline fights to prove herself, she begins to see Slytherin for what it truly is-not just ambition and cruelty, but loyalty, strength, and survival. She expected enemies. She didn't expect to find a place where she might actually belong. But war looms. Lines are being drawn. Loyalties are being tested. And Madeline must decide: stand with the brother who barely knows her, or the house that's becoming her home.

Felicity Malfoy grows up in a world full of expectations and intrigue. As the supposed daughter of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy, she enjoys the reputation of a pure-blood Slytherin - but deep in her heart she feels that she is different. What Felicity doesn't know: she is not the Malfoys' daughter, but was adopted by them as a baby to keep a dark secret. Her real father is Sirius Black, an outcast blood traitor and sworn enemy of her supposed family. At Hogwarts, Felicity is in her 5th year and is treated with hostility by many Gryffindors - especially by Fred and George Weasley, who regularly tease her about her Slytherin origins. But there is more to Fred's provocative comments than he would like to admit. He slowly begins to see behind Felicity's cool facade, and an unexpected connection develops between the two that changes their view of the world. When Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban and Hogwarts is thrown into turmoil, Felicity becomes entangled in a web of secrets and lies. In search of answers, she follows Harry, Ron and Hermione to the hut - and there meets Sirius himself. In a moment of truth, he reveals that she is not the Malfoy daughter, but his daughter. The realization turns Felicity's life upside down and forces her to question everything she thought she knew. But the truth does not stay hidden for long. When Lucius Malfoy learns that Felicity knows that she is descended from Sirius, he begins to make her life at Hogwarts hell. Between the anger of the Malfoys, the intrigues in Slytherin and her growing feelings for Fred, Felicity must decide who she really wants to be. Does she have the courage to break free from the shadows of her past and go her own way? Or will she remain trapped in the chains of the Malfoys? I do not refer to any of these characters.
