He never really had too many friends or partners, not only because of his secret life, but also for his inability to express himself, his blunt honesty and his bad temper. When he is chased out of his temporary hide-out, he returns to his home Ward and begins to be harassed by the mysterious ghoul leader of the ward.  While trying to fend off him and his ghouls, Renji also learns of the arrival of a long time nemesis.

Uta was hurt multiple times by people he thought loved him and now has a nasty chip on his shoulder. He'd became a fuck boy with a knack for breaking hearts. Ghouls always fell for the whole 'tortured soul' thing he had going for him and he'd let them if it meant taking his mind off things. When he sees something he likes he takes it, Uta likes what he sees in kaneki but is afraid of being hurt again. Given Uta's complicated past will he reject the connection they have because he's afraid or will he let the sweet little ghoul steal what's left of his heart.
