This is a story dedicated to my Oma, it is about an early onset Alzheimer's patient who is left with only there long term memory left to them and it's their account of life until 1957 in reverse chronological order.
The year was 2013. I had just moved into my first home with my husband and our young daughter. Life was going well until I sat down and began to flip through an old, long forgotten CD binder. As I did memories of my traumatic past came rushing forward out of nowhere and launched me into the greatest, and most difficult journey of my life.
This short story is the very first version of what would later become my memoir.
