Meet Max Moore. She is just a normal 29 year old girl who is just trying to get through her not-so-happy crappy life, in none other than the city Detroit. When you live in Detroit, it's not that easy having a good life. Max has had it hard: A very abusive Mother; a run-away Dad; poor; self-harm's; depression; and barely any friend's. Her one useful escape from reality is hip-hop/rap. She feels if she never even heard rap before, she would have already been dead.

One day Max couldn't take her Mother anymore, and escaped from the house. She searches everywhere for a small house or even an apartment, but instead wounds up in a cheap hotel. But the problem is, she has to share a room with a 'very familiar' face. Slowly, they become great friends. They want to have a steady, but slow relationship, but then Max finds out this man's darkest secret.
