You were trying to find your way home after school. It was dark now, and you couldn't seem to find the right street. You're parents were supposed to pick you up, but they were nowhere to be found. A teacher asked if you needed a ride after calling your parents and getting no answer, but you were set on walking home. "I'm a big kid," you exclaimed, starting to walk. Little did you know... Someone had their sights on you. (DISCLAIMER! I DON'T OWN ANY FORMS OF MEDIA IN THIS BOOK UNLESS SPECIFIED. Sunflower Lullabies: Bonded by a Field [SAMPLE]
"Tell me about your daughter, Ms. Light." "Her name was Desederia April Light. Of course, she made everyone call her Daya for sake of causality, but she nonetheless was an amazing girl. She had bright amber eyes, gorgeous curly hair, and she aspired to be a firefighter because she loved helping people. She wanted to save lives. Her favorite color was orange because she claimed that it was under appreciated, and she adored Autumn because of the vibrancy. She was obsessed with sunflowers, too. She was just a normal girl, just a normal kid." "So then what happened?" "I..don't know. Things just changed one day. She grew paranoid and quiet, her grades dropped, and she'd beg us to stay home. I'd just tell her to grow up, but I should've listened." "But you really don't have an idea of why?" "I wish that I did. I wish I knew then what I know now, and I wish I took the matter more seriously when she tried to tell me." "So, Ms Light, tell me, do you think we'll find her?" "I don't know. But I know my Daya, and I know how smart she is. She might get to us before we get to her." ~ This is an unedited sample. The full, edited version is available on my Amazon Kindle (link in bio). [LMK x F!Reader] [6k - 22k word chapters] Your dad wanted help at the noodle shop, sure you love him to bits and pieces but you simply don't have the time of day to be doing things like this. He offered to pay you as much as he could for your help, but seeing as it was well under what you normally earned at your current job, you had to reluctantly deny his offers. Besides, you live halfway across the city and you have training with your mentor, this isn't something you couldn't just throw away with ease. Upon the third call though, you finally folded, as the desperation in your fathers voice was evident and you were tired of being, what you'd like to call, a shitty daughter. So, you told your mentor about your knew schedule, to which he was more than happy to adjust his schedule as well, he seemed more than happy oddly enough. Though you felt off about leaving him to take care of your pets, you had no one else to trust, so you just left him with them. With that, you packed a good few amounts of clothes, started up your car and then you were off. Still, there was an ever growing worry developing in your stomach as you drove further and further away from your home. Was this really the best idea?
Tell Me Pretty Lies
From the second you're in this world they tell you what is fair. What questions your allowed to ask and the ones you can never dare say. I find it damn near funny that most of you are reading this and know exactly what I mean. They put you on the path they've paved for you as kids we don't question it or even wonder if it's right for you. But beyond your paths edges is a land made up of risks and dangers. You feared it they tell you no good will come from it but how do you really know? Truth be told I was the girl who had her whole life planned out for her, straight A's, best friend, and two loving parents. I know what I wanted what I needed and I knew how to fight like hell for it. There's a reason why everyone prefers pretty lies over the bitter truth and it's usually because they can't handle the truth but I think the most likely thing is they can't handle what happens to the person once the truth comes out that's what happened to me. I was happy the way things were and then one day everything blew up in my face. Maybe the happy girl I was would have been happy living a lie for the rest of her life but no matter what the truth always comes out. So I ask you what would you have wanted the bitter truth or the pretty lie?
