After her suicide plan was stalled, Zoie is falling faster and faster into what she calls "the pit". With it's walls rapidly closing in, a small glimmer appears in its folds. Tiger Dugger, the new kid, is inexplicably interested in her. Although Zoie and the other classmates are shouting a thousand reasons to run away, her faults only draw him in more. He wants to know her secrets, and as he discovers them one peice at a time, her picture becomes clearer - as he can see HER without everything's she is defining herself to be. As the real her is becoming clear to Tiger, he falls for her faster and faster. And as Zoie realizes how well Tiger truly understands, and discovers a few secrets of his own, she falls for him. Though they get closer day by day, can this connection to him be enough to save her from herself?
