'Tannum was glad to be off the road bike.  Slowly uncurling, the detective silently stretched the length of her back as her knees unlocked painfully.  In the strumming beat of cicada's thrum she considered this new predicament.  Dense coastal heath and bracken under growth surrounded an area that could best be described as a local council works bay. Tannum roused her senses and lightly fingered the glock pistol attached to her hip.  Hasty action would bring the already tense situation out of her control.'

When you're deep undercover and the edges between right and wrong become a hazy blur, you back yourself and trust your instincts.   That's all well and good until emotions get in the way.
