The bell finally rang and I made my way to the bus and sat in the very first seat off to the right. I always sat there. I guess you could say I liked being the first one off when the bus driver finally came to a stop at the curb a few feet from my house. School for me just dragged on. When I finally managed to make it through the five classes I so dreadfully endured all I wanted was to get home. I put my ear buds in as soon as I sat in my seat and cranked the volume up as loud as possible on my iPod. It seemed like hours had passed by the time she walked up the steps and stood next to the driver. I paused my music and took out my ear buds to listen to what the unfamiliar girl had to say. "Uh-Uhm I'm a new student here. I don't know where to sit or if there are assigned seats." She said with an oddly nervous voice. She didn't look like the nervous type. She had died her hair black but her blonde roots were showing. She wore a black shirt and a half zipped up orange hoodie that looked worn and old. The bus driver looked at her for a moment and then finally spoke. "Oh, well I'm just the sub but I'm pretty sure there isn't any assigned seats. Take a seat where ever you like. What was your name again? I'm sorry I must not of caught it." The girl seemed to slump slightly from what looked like the weight of her backpack. She seemed annoyed at the bus driver for continuing the conversation. "I didn't say my name but it's Cassidy." A quick burst of adrenaline seemed to rush through my body. All of a sudden I found myself speaking. "Uh Cassidy is it? You can sit here if you like." "Oh, thanks." She said as she removed her backpack and sat next to me. She had a blank face now. "I'm Emma, it's nice to meet you." "I'm Cassidy, obviously, and it's nice to meet you too."All Rights Reserved
