Samantha Brooks, 18, grew up in Candor. She doesn't think she belongs in this Faction anymore. Over the years every time she decided to speak the truth she ended up getting hurt. So she now results to lying as a safer option.
Traumatic experiences drove her to seclusion, her parents think she's a disgrace to their Faction. Her brother is the only person left that'll stand by her through everything.
Loss, grief, pain and self-doubt dominate Sam's life until it's time she attends the Choosing Ceremony. The day of the Aptitude Test has arrived. What Faction will she choose?
And how will this decision change her forever?
