Lady Mhysra Kilpapan was blessed from birth with a distinguished family, a glorious home and a giant eagle miryhl of her own. Fully aware of her luck, she wants for nothing in life - except a chance to become a Rift Rider. The elite force of the Overworld has been closed to women for over one hundred years and not even the legendary Wingborn are allowed to join. Until now.

Women are being admitted to the Riders again and Mhysra wants to be first in line. Except her parents have other ideas, and there are plenty of others who are less than pleased about the change. Yet if Mhysra can find a way to reach Aquila, she will let nothing stop her.

But the Overworld is in trouble and the vicious kaz-naghkt are destroying Rift Rider bases one by one. The Riders need help. Can Mhysra and her friends really be the difference between survival and destruction? Or will they fail before their first year of training is through?

Battle Scars | Book 1 (DISCONTINUED) by flightmare_kid
20 parts Complete
This is a rewrite of my old story, Battle Scars. There will be a few plot changes but nothing too major. ---------------------------- The Alryne tribe was known to be a very power-hungry group of Vikings, however they have remained quiet for generations. Now the tribe has faded into legend. However, their current leader, Brendan the Battle Winner, has found the location of the King of Dragons. And he wants it for himself. It is located on the island of Berk, but that island is known to have dragon-riding warriors who have defeated villains such as Viggo Grimborn and even Drago Bludvist, so he must plan carefully. He starts by sending out a group of scouts lead by his daughter Brenna, and in that group is a girl named Alice Flarson. On their journey to Berk, they are attacked by one of the rarest and feared dragons in the world: the Flightmare. A dragon that glows as bright as the sun and is capable of freezing its enemies in fear. The dragon is struck down, but Alice finds it injured on the small island where the group temporarily set up camp. She frees the dragon and flees back to her camp, but as time goes on she finds herself going back to find the dragon and even befriending it. During all of this she discovers a side to dragons that no one from her tribe ever saw, and she makes it her job to warn the chief of Berk before Alryne can take the king of dragons and put the entire dragon kind at jeopardy. War against Alryne is inevitable, but Alice thinks she might be able to help Berk prepare for the battle ahead.

Long before the floating kingdoms were built, the skies belonged to the dragons alone. Humans feared the skies and the creatures that ruled them. But everything changed when dark forces called Velkraths emerged from the earth - twisted echoes of dragons, corrupted by ancient magic and hunger. They began to burn the kingdoms from the skies downward. Desperate to save her people, a girl named Aerin climbed the highest peak to plead with the dragon Esharion. Instead of taking her life, the dragon saw her courage and bound his soul to hers. In that moment, the first dragon-rider bond was forged - a sacred link of minds and hearts. From Aerin and Esharion, the order of dragon riders was born. Dragons bond to their riders from birth, and when the rider comes of age, the dragon seeks them out. Over centuries, the riders defended the floating kingdom of Aerithal, their bond holding back the Velkraith threat. Yet the bond is dangerous-if one dies, the other often cannot survive the loss. Two childhood best friends, Riven, a quiet and loyal dragon rider, and Lyra, a bold and fiercely independent warrior-have trained side-by-side since they were twelve. Bound to their dragons, Virex and Sora, they've fought countless battles and saved each other's lives more times than they can count. But while Lyra sees Riven as her anchor and brother-in-arms, Riven has silently loved her for years. Lyra, however, is infatuated with Xanten, a charming and noble prince from the kingdom to the South called Medana. When an ancient, giant, monstrous dragon awakens, threatening to destroy their kingdom, Riven and Lyra are chosen for a perilous mission. As they venture deeper into enemy lands, Riven struggles with his feelings, caught between wanting Lyra to know the truth and fearing it would ruin everything they've built

The Last Airbender: Forged In Flames

4 parts Ongoing Mature

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. When I was young, I would read stories of an era long past: a time of peace when the Avatar kept balance between the Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation and Air Nomads. But this all changed when my people, the Fire Nation, attacked. Only the Avatar mastered all four elements; only he could stop my people and their war. But on the day of Sozin's Comet, the Airbenders were no more. A hundred years have passed, and the Fire Nation is nearing victory in the war. Three years ago, my best friend: Prince Zuko was banished by the Firelord. Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn into the Air Nomads and that the cycle is broken, but Zuko hasn't lost hope. He still believes that, somehow, the Avatar is alive. And if he can bring the greatest threat to the our nation before his father, his honor shall be restored. For Zuko's sake, I hope the Avatar is alive. I do not own Avatar: The Last Airbender.
