What makes your life worth living? For nineteen year old Seraphina Blackford, it's her younger brother, Caiden. Her whole world revolves around him, what is left of the world that is. It's been three thousand years since the last technology was around and the Earth is falling apart. After The Great Break governments fell and chaos took over. After years of death and destruction, all that's left behind are small groups of people that band together in clans. Seraphina or Sera as she prefers to be called, is doing her best to protect her little brother in this dangerous world but all Caiden wants to do though is go on adventures and search for the mystical Paradise.  After a deadly attack on her home she is forced to go out in search of this fabled safe-haven to fulfill her brothers greatest wish: to find Paradise. During this quest she must enlist the help of Breccan Dolemo, an overconfident jerk who somehow got mixed up in a clan that kills for sport. Not only has he murdered but Breccan has made himself a sworn enemy of Sera's. Can they put aside their differences in order to find Paradise? Or will Caiden's life goal go on unfulfilled?

When you're marked you have two choices; fight or die. Nance lives in the past, literally. Her city is a recreation of early twenty-first century society. To the outside world they're experiments, just rats running around a maze. In an impoverished future world, the city seems to be their only chance of finding where they went wrong, or so they say. Nance doesn't know the real purpose of her home, and she doesn't care. All she sees are the one hundred teenagers, just like her, who are killed every year in the barbaric ritual known as the marking. They tattoo your face and pit you against your peers, against the city. Nance doesn't know why, but it doesn't matter, because she's sixteen and it's her turn to be marked. **So I decided to replace the original story with the rewrite because they are pretty much exactly the same. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on. It's not until a girl is welcomed into his life after bumping into him one day in the forest and she seems to be different from the others. With her help, he will soon realized that it may take a lifetime away to figure out the reason he was given the chance to be apart of this beautiful lie we call living. (Warning: I wrote this at 16, the plot is... ehhhhh)

This book is is written in the far future were war is raging throughout the world permanently halting all innovations. Humanity wanting to finally bring it all to an end only finds one way to solve it. End humanity as we know it. Governments across the globe found that humanity wasn't what it was before and had become dark and terrible to live in, so to fix that they made a small utopia pulling in families, scientists, and important government officials to create the perfect pair of humans. Those two humans would be trained to kill what humanity has become and start it all over, so the world would be a better place. But once they make the female, they find that she is not like her partner. She has a different goal in mind than restarting humanity. This is my first book, so it may have a few mess ups but I hope you enjoy, I have worked hard to at least get this out. The prophesy of The Coming In Saffire's time of greatest need, a child will be born to a special woman, the Gravidarum. The child, who has no father of this planet, will be known as the Unum, a child to lead Saffire. The Helper will battle to keep the Gravidarum safe until the Unum is born. The people of Saffire have been waiting to see The Coming fulfilled. Demalynn assembles a group of clackers to get her home, the most important of which is a fellow clacker: eighteen-year-old Aiden. It is not long before Jago, the ruler of Saffire, learns that a woman on Saffire is pregnant and he unleashes all his power to prevent the birth. Jago will not give up power. Demalynn is surprised to find out she is the Helper, but is astounded to learn the identity of the Gravidarum. Demalynn must battle to stay alive and fumbles towards the realization that Aiden is much more than a close friend. She is certain, with the certainty that only a seventeen-year-old can possess, that Aiden is her only true love. Demalynn is desperate to find a way back home until she must make a choice: stay with Aiden on Saffire or go back home and re-unite her family. There's no place like home.

Marked by a number on the side of his/her neck. * Defect - a derogatory name given to nobles when they appear less than average. * D.O.C. - the day of correction set to kill off those that don't look perfect * Corpse flower - a flower that has been rumored to possess the components to correct the genetic error found in Sybaran. * Silver knickle - currency in Nephraim * G-shot- the shot that corrects defects. * The Oval - is the center of the world, the government. President Malcolm Bouchard works here. Basis and facts throughout the story: Pieces from the Old World are forbidden. Those with lighter hair follicles and iris colors are considered problematic; skin tone is no longer the issue. Every race has the ability to be born with lighter features, so there's no prejudice against race. Just physical features. Sybaran is the continent; Nephraim (home village) , Salem (stricter division, where Aero was born), Mieich, and Shankrai, are the 4 subdivisions (countries) of Sybaran that we have so far.
