"If it's one thing I know about you, it's that you suck at keeping secrets," Luke would say, and I would scoff and splash my feet ruthlessly in the lake. "But here we are, in a clandestine area underage drinking. Why am I with the crowned queen of the Lonely Hearts Club? Aren't you sworn maidens or something?"

"Last time I checked, it's okay to make mistakes. And apparently, both of us have made tons, so why not make these nights worthwhile?" I revolve my glass around the air, then take another swig, because in all honesty, Luke and I are just both cowards unable to face the harsh reality.
