All of us would like to believe we are above gender roles, but are we really? Probably not. Nobody ever says congratulations its a baby! Gender still defines us. So that little girl will never truly be able to be herself, to be herself without feeling guilty. Feeling guilty of never being enough, not pretty enough, not feminine enough.
Now as frightening as that may sound, we have all experienced it, we have been programmed by society. Never being yourself, let alone transphobia are the outcome. But is it even possible to fully overcome gender roles?
