Hayley Thornton was thinking about Dean Parker again. They went to school together a few months back, he is the reason why Hayley moved from Star Ville to Golden City, one of the reasons anyway. Eventhough Dean was a very popular guy at school everyone thought there was something different about him, a little disturbed everyone said behind his back and that was verified when he physically abused Hayley, which lead to her parents finding out and that was the cherry on the cake of problems and they decided to switch homes. Dean was a clever and brave guy and the word 'fear' is not part of his vocabulary, and he also did not take no for an answer, he kept looking for Hayley and he finally found her again.

AJ Harrison had always been a believer in the phrase, "sisters before misters." That didn't change when April Porter, AJ's best-friend-since-kindergarten, ditched her for one of the biggest players at South River High. One year and an incredibly messy breakup later, the girls are juniors and AJ finally has her best friend back. But, when things get out of hand at Steve Parker's Halloween party, AJ is forced to associate with Ryder Hayes a little more often than she would like. Not only is Ryder one of the most popular boys in the senior class, but he also happens to be April's ex. To say that AJ hates him would be an understatement, but what if there's more to Ryder than what meets the eye? And you know what they say-maybe hatred and love aren't really so different.
