Melanie Bishop is your average every day girl. Her mother passed away when she was 8 and her father passed when she was 13 (her mom had cancer and her dad got into a car accident.) She is currently living with her grandparents and turning 18 years old in 3 months.

Jacob Alvarado is a mysterious person, his enigmatic attitude attracts many girls and even boys. His mom committed suicide when he was only 7 and his dad is an alcoholic and abusive.

Melanie's grandparents are going on a trip for a few weeks. She doesn't want to stay home alone so she looks for a place to stay. She ends up finding an apartment and a roommate to share it with it. 
However, it turns out her roommate is the trouble maker of Jacksonville High School. 
 Having being roommates, where does this take them into their relationship? Will they be able to put their difference aside and learn to accept each other?
