Shortlisted for the Open Novella Contest 2019 • Being a Supervillain is tough. Between managing a secret lair and making sure your mom doesn't stop loving you because you keep telling everyone she's dead, it's a really hard business to be good at? Add to that, the fact that somehow you got arrested because your cat sitter didn't take the day off and then you go around expressing your unconditional love for pancakes in a Super holding cell because technically they can't put you in a proper prison and you don't really have a choice because lawyers are expensive? And then, you realise your best friend is plotting go take over your spot as the greatest villain there ever was? Okay, maybe not the greatest, but you do come pretty close to it! To top it off, there's that one Superhero who's just so completely gorgeous, you couldn't imagine any harm coming to them? Because they're just that precious? I guess that makes me a Supervillain with minor time travel superpowers and a huge crush on a not so powerful Superhero? And all you have to do is protect yourself and everyone you love from your ex best friend/sidekick --because let's face it that's the highest level of praise for a wretched traitor here--and you also have to get out of Super Holding somehow? What could go wrong? Right?Complete

Save Me
I was drowning. I knew that. I also knew that the hands around my throat, pushing me deeper into the river water was the cause. What I didn't know was who was drowning me and why. It hurt thinking. It hurt to do anything right now. But I still screamed under the cold water and pushed the hands away as hard as I could. It didn't have much effect. I fought and fought, but I was getting weaker, and colder. The pain was overbearing. I couldn't breathe. It was the worst pain imaginable; and as the hands that were around my neck were forcibly ripped off by some unknown force, I slipped deeper into the depths of the river. My hair was straight above me along with my arms. My eyes were open and the water burned. A darkness started to pull me under, taking the pain away. I felt a small pressure around my waist, before the darkness completely consumed me. The last thing I remember is thinking, save me.Complete

"Let me die first or it's like I'll die twice." He tells me. I love him, my husband, more than I love myself. I love him more passionately than I thought I ever could with anyone. Saving A Villain
SEQUEL TO LOVING A VILLAIN There were sparks when we met, but not the kind that you would think. One look at him quite literally knocked me out. Seriously. I was unconscious. He was not some shining hero on a white horse, who swooped in and saved the day. No he put the Hero's head through a wall and laughed. Overall, he and I are a complete shit show. Complete. Shit show. He isn't nice. Or kind. Or hell, even legally decent. And he sure as hell isn't sane. Through all his shitty qualities, the villainous attitude, and even all the multiple attempts on my life. I fell for the villain of the century. My damn luck. Blue Doom. But did we get the semi-happy ending? Or at least the one you're suppose to get when you end up with the villain of the story. But no. Loving are part of our existence in this world 'cause we have an ability to fall, admire and love someone we met in our lives. However the crazy thing is we exceeded on our limitations cause we thought it's okay to love that way but unfortunately that's not right and fair to continually do it. There are so many expectations that made us so much dissapointed ; when we're hoping that someone that we really love will like and love us back one day. Alongside the insane decision someone could take is to believe that there's hope and Miracle that the one we chose to love will acknowledge and choose us the way we do at last. In addition, We desperately defined who will be the key on the doors of hearts but doing this thing will deceively cause so much pain in the end. But I had enough of the tugging, the clawing, the moaning, the crying and pleading for them to stop, but simply feeding them with our pain. She lived in this hell hole, where they take her to rooms. Examine. Fight. She knows she won't be able to entertain them for long. She decides to run. Soul. Brown hair as mud, blue eyes as the sky. Hight 6'2. Tanned and toned body. Death's best friend in the hell hole they're in, he's as cold as she is. But shows a bit of sympathy. Well... More than her at least.
