Welcome to the future, where humans no longer exist - or so the monsters want you to believe. Dawn, one of the last of her kind, is tasked every month with leaving the safety of her home to traverse across enemy infested territory in order to keep her family afloat. There is only one rule: never get caught by what lies beyond the forest borders. When Dawn breaks this rule, she comes face to face with the monster, Syrena, who she would give anything for the opportunity to kill - and the feeling is mutual. What Dawn doesn't expect is for that very same monster to later need her help. Reluctantly, Dawn must join forces with her sworn enemy in order to uncover a plot that could lead to the ruination of everyone she cares for. Along the way, she learns that there is more to monsters than she originally thought. With this growing connection between the two, Dawn is forced to come to terms with her feelings for Syrena and reevaluate everything she once thought about her. Allied enemies, twisted betrayals, and a shocking truth plunges Dawn into questioning everything she once believed in, and herself... "Everyone wants to play monsters, ensure that you become the worst." --------- Cover made by @Shadowcroft © 2023 by Heather Darte
