I had tried for so long to be happy, not the everyday kind of happy, but the true, rare happiness that makes you feel like everything is going to be okay no matter what.
At the age of 13, I was taken advantage of by my best friend's older brother. I have never told anyone about it. He is the star if my high school and I don't want his reputation ruined because of a mistake he made. Because of him, I had forgotten what it feels like to be truly happy.
I try to surround myself with things that I enjoy. I have friends that I trust. They have no idea about any of it- and I fully intend I keep it that way.
I am in the art club, and I am on the track team, and that satisfies me. They keep me busy enough to keep the terrors away...
