An old, crumbling house stands on the English moors. Half a millennium old, and empty... yet it is not forgotten.

Only one family has ever owned Idyllwilde House, but they are quite the family, spanning five centuries and somehow making it through the turbulent gales of history- but not without their scratches.
Cecily unravels an Elizabethan mystery that threatens her life. Nicolas tries to keep his engagement in place during the English Civil War. As the Jacobite rebellions flourish, Mairi's beliefs are challenged in an English home. The American Revolution reaches into the family and shakes it to the core. Jonathan finds a chance at joy- but will his family let him take it? Tessa tries to find home in a family that is not her own. And finally, two cousins are tasked with seven child refugees during the London Blitz.
The family will see more than their fair share of life. But that is life- to be to the fullest, and even the ordinaries can be extraordinary.

Highest Ranking: #295 in Historical Fiction

Rather than one novel, this is made up of several short stories, which span a few chapters each. The stories can be read in any order and will always be posted together. All characters- unless explicitly mentioned- are of my own invention.

A shy child, she prefers her prayers and pearls to the hefty politics her Father and brothers have no choice but to partake in but war will reach into her life quicker than she could ever know.... Across the sea, in England, the Wars of the Roses rages, a bloody battle for the throne between the royal Houses of York and Lancaster where a word weighs as much as the swing of a sword. Amidst it all, stands Edward of York, the handsome eldest son to the Duke of York, a young knight, eager to fight but forced to flee England in 1459 when the Lancastrian King and Queen overpower his family forces at Ludlow Castle. With his Neville cousins (one being the infamous Earl of Warwick) Edward sails to France where Warwick begins his plots to regain the House of York power. It is as a result of these plots, Edward and Constance are destined to meet. Worlds apart, they will be matched for the benefit of others but when tragedy strikes at the very heart of the House of York, forcing Edward closer to the throne than ever, they find they are, perhaps, what each other needs. Amongst the tangled nest of vipers, surrounded by bloodied thorns, will they keep the crowns destiny calls for them to claim?

Like Fire and Powder (Violent Delights Book 18)

20 parts Complete Mature

The War of the Roses has ended. After a thirty year power struggle, House Tudor reigns victorious, and Henry VII has crowned himself King of England by right of conquest. This is a final, very bloody revenge for the deaths of his Lancaster cousins during the War of the Roses. Now, Henry has to win the hearts of the people of England, and more importantly that of his future wife, Elizabeth of York, who is the niece of the king Henry just deposed and murdered. Henry has always been much better with numbers and account books than he has charm, much less charming women. And Elizabeth has no intention of being charmed. Both, however, know that the union is in the best interest of the people of England. Enemies to Lovers has never been quite this dramatic. Inspired by the true story of one of the most successful marriages in English history. In all technicality this comes before Son of Prophesy, but that actually explains the War of the Roses whereas this does not go through the whole thing. Trigger/ Content Warning: Bloody violence, survivor's guilt, and sexual assault are all discussed on page. A couple of characters have traumatic flashbacks to past violence. Some suggestive conversations and mildly sexual content. Some brief profanity.
