Back in January, I submitted this into the young author's contest, and it won first place for regionals then third for state. I'm not sure how, but apparently they liked this short story about a split offshoot of humanity that dwells underground, losing an important sense: sight. When a lady accidentally runs into the undiscovered species, fear encompasses her world much like the color grey..
