Sometimes, you just can't accept a destiny. Sootstar and Honeytuft's kits, Brightkit and Weedkit, are very lively. Brightkit has always dreamed about being leader one day. His sister, Weedkit, has always dreamed about being a medicine cat. However, StarClan cats Tigerstripe and Eagle-eye tell them that their thoughts are twisted, and that Brightkit is to be a medicine cat, and Weedkit is to be the leader. Brightkit refuses his destiny, wanting to become a medicine cat. He was never aware of the consequences of his actions, including his parents splitting, and the delay of his apprenticeship... and that's only the beginning.

Their leader, Daffodilstar, has resigned to believe that she will be the last leader of Windclan, with Crowkit and Foxkit as the last kits to live on the moor connected to the memories of their warrior ancestors.
