For centuries, griffins and dragons have been at odds with each other. To where it's gotten to a point where both are near extinction and living separate lives in the same island, hoping to never cross paths with each other.
An old dragon legend tells about this great golden dragon who was part griffin, and how he brought the two warring species together. When he died, the island fell back into chaos, but not without a few dragons hoping that one day, The Great One, Dante, would return.
Turns out The Great One does return, but not by reincarnation. One orphaned griffin just so happens to not only be named after The Great One, but grows up to be part dragon. Now thrust in-between two warring sides, Dante must take the burden that his parents laid on him and bring griffins and dragons back together. Which is easier said than done.
