Everett Young became a father at an early age of nineteen with his ex-girlfriend, Anne Freeman. Anne left the baby girl, Ryland, and Everett for drugs and alcohol, resulting in her getting sent to a rehab facility. This forced Everett to have to raise Ryland on his own.

Terra Clark, Everett's best-friend, has been helping him raise Ryland for two years. Everett can't help but think Terra is the mother Ryland will never have. Everything is perfect up until the point Everett finds that Anne is back in town. Will Anne's reappearance threaten to destroy the "perfect" life Terra and Everett had raising Ryland?
