Hundreds of resets, only a few years. Frisk was only eight when they fell and got trapped in the infinite time loop. 
     On the other side of the rip, six astronauts stepped out of the Hab, which is short for habit, to abort the mission due to a sandstorm. 
     Frisk nearly gave up, every time they went to the surface they were forced to reset soon after.
     The events of The Martian happened once before resetting, pulling it into the time loop.
     And maybe getting a computer virus isn't always a bad thing, or maybe some things should just be left alone.

So they deviate from the script, attempt to fulfill the purpose that brought them to the mountain in the first place in a last attempt to break free from the resets. It doesn't work. (But suicide is a pretty memorable thing, and emotions may just be a little bit stronger than memories. Especially to the person who finds their dead body.) This is a story I wrote in 2016 when I was in a mental health clinic dealing with my own depression and suicidal thoughts. Viewer discretion is advised. Was this truly the last RESET? Sans wondered. But he knew only Frisk would tell, only this young girl would decide his future. He hated the thought of it at first, but hatred began to grow numb after he figured out he had no say in his own future. He had to admit though, Frisk was pretty reasonable, it was Chara who was the maniac. But she was gone now, so what was the anticipating, eerie, feeling that he had in his bones? The feeling that something wasn't right, of course, this timeline was already incredibly strange. The feeling sat in his in the pit of his stomach, tying itself into knots, until that fateful rainy day when all of his questions would be answered. So basically, this is a fanfiction of a fancomic of the game Undertale. Look, I'm gonna admit, I'm little stuck in the Undertale fandom, so this is my of slowly crawling out of it. Anywho, I strongly suggest you read the fancomic which this fanfiction is based off of, DeeperDown, before reading my story. It would basically bring this world to the point of falling to pieces at our feet. If we weren't trapped between time and space already, very few of us wouldn't be able to handle that knowledge, and could drive those who couldn't to the edge. So, please. I'm begging you. When you reach the End, when you get us out of here for the umpteenth time, I don't care if you reset or not. Just don't tell anyone about it, and... Please don't go homicidal again, okay?" Frisk smiled meekly, and nodded. "I can do that. And don't worry about the reset." They gave Sans a small hug. "After that whole thing with Chara, there won't be any more." And with the final word, they opened the door to leave; before exiting they paused. "See you later."
