Book 1 of the Wolf-Warrior series. (This book can be read apart from the series.) Cursed-one. It is the name given to Sephtis by the people of the village, whom she has served since her sixteenth summer. It is a name that is used with hate and scorn, even used by her father, the king. For, even though she is a princess by birth, her hair and eyes are blue, and thus she is cursed, for blue stands for life and purity - all things death Fae are not. Sephtis has always been filled with a longing for love, kinship, and a home. Something she finds with a pack of wolves near the village. But when the time comes, she finds that she must choose what her life will be, and the choice is painful.

Feathers of the Forgotten Some destinies were never meant to shine. They were meant to awaken. In the mountain village of Khurmal, every child is born with a single white feather. At sixteen, it changes color to reveal who they're meant to become. Gold for leaders. Silver for artists. Blue for explorers. Green for healers. But when Lina's feather turns black, everything ends. Branded as cursed, she is exiled before dawn. But as she escapes into the mist-covered forest, a falcon delivers a mysterious message: > "Follow the wind that knows your name." In the hidden forest of Veyara, Lina discovers a world of other exiled children - and their feathers were never curses. They were keys. Here, wild magic awakens, animals speak, and forgotten destinies rise like stars from the dark. But when Khurmal begins hunting them down, Lina must lead the very children the world abandoned. And in doing so, she will uncover the most dangerous truth of all: > She was never meant to stay human.
