Hazel Glenn is a student whom aspires to be a Roker, or, a witch assassin. So, to fulfill her dreams she attends Wickwood Academy. While attending Wickwood, she finds herself involved in a civil war between the Witches, working on the side of Cailleach Dark- the Witches' Duke of War. ◆BOOK I OF 'THE CALLING' SERIES◆ Harriet Summers has always believed in soulmates-the kind that ignite fireworks and make the world sharper, brighter, and full of meaning. But reality? It's nothing like the stories she's clung to. Fresh out of high school and stuck in a life that feels like an old, faded photograph, she longs for something more. Then, Morgana Ravenspell Academy calls. A world where vampires rule the night, cat shifters prowl, and mermaids whisper secrets beneath moonlit waters. Magic crackles in the air, but Harriet's focus doesn't waver-her soulmate is out there, the missing piece that can steady her unraveling powers. But fate has other plans. Because the one person who challenges her, infuriates her, and sets her world ablaze isn't the soulmate she expected. And when an ancient darkness rises, threatening to tear everything apart, Harriet must make an impossible choice: her best friend or her destined love? ************************************* Nicholas Sinclairley is a force of nature, sharp, untouchable, and dangerously in control. Power bends at his will, and emotions? They're nothing more than a liability. He's spent his life mastering the art of distance. Then she crashes into his world. Harriet Summers. Reckless. Stubborn. A walking contradiction wrapped in magic and chaos. She's hunting for her soulmate, convinced it's someone else. But Nicholas knows better. The pull between them isn't ordinary-it's wildfire, and every moment with her threatens to burn through the ice he's carefully built around himself. As the shadow of a 1000-year-old enemy looms closer, Nicholas is forced to make a choice of his own: fight for Harriet's heart or let her go before love destroys them both. Because for the first time in his life, power isn't enough. And losing her might mean losing himself. --------------------------------------- This story is an original work by Hazel Brown. The kingdoms of Caedland and Saroviya have been at war for centuries, and a darkness has spread across the Northern Lands. In the east, Saroviya has been crippled by fighting on multiple fronts, while Caedland still reels from the murder of its queen's consort and the disappearance of its princess nearly two decades ago. Now, in the war-torn lands between the two kingdoms, a new threat has emerged, an unnatural disease that specifically targets the witches who fight for both kingdoms. In Caedland, a new draft means that young witch Judith Craven must report to the kingdom's capital to join the New Army and begin her training in the military arts. There, however, she soon discovers that her power is not as it seems-and neither is her heritage. Meanwhile, in Saroviya, the king's personal Healer, Alina Kalinin, finds herself sucked into a dangerous political landscape when she is assigned by the leader of the Order of Mages to create a cure for the mysterious new disease that has appeared on her kingdom's border. Even as Judith grapples with awful power and Alina struggles to understand a disease whose origins she soon comes to suspect aren't natural, a group of criminals in the neutral kingdom of Rijkelund set out to steal a sacred artifact from the Saroviyan embassy. But, as they embark on a seemingly-impossible mission, they soon discover that all is not as it may seem, and both Saroviya and Caedland are playing a very different game than it may seem from the outside.

A supernatural romance with twisted pasts, magic, psychics, and murder. And yeah, high school drama. "Pretty much a Mr. Badboy & Girl story but with literal magic and witches involved." - The Author of This Book ~ When Bethany Harlow's parents force her to volunteer at their local Dared Insane Asylum, she's forced to lie to all her friends about her after-school whereabouts. Zachary Jaxston was the reason she didn't want anyone to know where she spent her free time. He was the talk of the town four years ago, and she knew that if her volunteering were to be public news, his popularity would rise again. Everyone from her high school would mock her for hanging out with The Mother Murdered & Hallucinator. But he wasn't as crazy as he made people believe. Bethany was determined to find out the real reason Zachary was admitted into a mental institution. He didn't seem like a guy who could kill, especially not his own mother. However, her determination led her straight into the discovery of Zachary's supernatural abilities-that could in fact potentially hurt Bethany. But when she found out Zach was a male witch, a wizard, a portal to all things supernatural opened in her mind. She even made a few discoveries about herself and her family, the Harlow's. Slowly, together, they explore all the possibilities of magic. But when Bethany has a freak accident and almost kills a guy, their whole world flips upside down. Now, Bethany, Zach, and the rest of the Harlow family have to figure out a way to escape the dark and save Bethany. Will they be able to do it before it's too late? Or will Bethany become on of the endarkened? ~ ❝You should be scared of me.❞ ❝I know. But I'm not.❞ ❝I could hurt you.❞ ❝But you won't.❞ ❝You don't know that.❞ ❝But . . . I do.❞ ~ #1 in sci-fi romance [8.7.18] #1 in white magic [10.31.18] #1 in good and evil [2.9.19] #1 in Insane Asylum [8.10.19] #2 in dark magic [3.29.19]
