Beside You [a.i]

"In my class, I prefer having seating arrangements," explained Mr.Bennett, my pre-cal teacher. "I believe it gives everyone an opportunity here to socialize with their different peers. Now, I have mapped out your desk arrangements on the board. And you may have noticed that desks are in pairs, meaning you will have only one person sitting beside you."

'So much for socializing with your different peers. Like we only get to sit by one person!' I thought to myself. We were all currently huddled around the board, looking at the red ink that mapped out the desk arrangements. Each square indicated a desk, and each desk had a name written in it.

My eyes scanned the board until I found my name. It was at the bottom of the board, meaning I sat in the back of the class, which I didn't mind. It also showed the name of the person that had to sit beside me.
