17 year old Zoey Matthews just recently lost her mother to cancer. They all knew that the day of her passing was coming, but they didn't think that it would be so soon. Zoey had already been struggling with anorexia and depression, but her mothers death has made it worse, and with her father a deadbeat alcoholic, her mental health is gradually depleting.
When it happened Zoey and her father moved from their home town of Portland, Oregon to the bright and sunny city of Los Angeles, where she is enrolled into Westbrook Academy Boarding School, even though her father promised to homeschool her. While there she runs into the schools bad boy, Ashford Williams. At the same time she meets Ashford, she also meets Lee Brooks, who saves her from Ashford's brutality. Ashford has now made it his mission to constantly mess with Zoey, but then he changes, and she is now stuck between him and Lee.
