Elvira Steele was a late-bloomer. Her parents were worried she'd be the first squib in their Pureblood heritage, the first non-magic child in their long line of Gryffindors. Of course, they'd love her no matter what the turnout, but were ecstatic when Elvira finally turned her father's prized broomstick into a mouse. She was to attend Hogwarts and live her dreams of becoming a powerful Auror or even simply a teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her future was set.

That is, until the sorting hat decided to change her life forever.

After the sorting ceremony, Elvira Steele is thrown into a whirlwind of chaos, magic, friendship, and Dark Arts as she realizes things are not as simple as they seem. Not all Gryffindors are brave and good, and neither is every Slytherin cunning and selfish. Her loyalties are tested at every turn of the road, and she finds herself slowly slipping into a darkness she swore she would never near.

Through the battle between good and evil, Elvira uncovers twisted, unexpected secrets from her heritage, and has to make choices that no seventeen-year old should ever have to make.

Malfoy's thumb caressed Dahlia's cheek, and her eyes fluttered open to meet his. "You aren't expendable to me," Draco hissed forcefully. "Do you understand?" Dahlia couldn't form words. She tried, but none came so instead she nodded. "Words, Dumbledore, use your words." Hissing at the use of her surname, she looked up at him and snarled, "Understood, Malfoy." He's a regrettably barbarous, pureblood, Slytherin heir; 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, unavailable, and that's the way he'd prefer it to remain. Draco Malfoy has much more important, particularly insidious business to attend to, rather than waste time worrying about altering the course of an already pre-determined marriage. No sense in lingering on an emotional connection with any witch deemed fit for the deplorable role, when one has a serpent's fangs buried deep in their skin, releasing venom at an alarming rate... Unfortunately for him (and for her), Madeleine Desrosiers cannot be reasoned with, and she has her golden eyes locked squarely on one wizard only. This hazardous enchantress is a terrifically stubborn French Beauxbatons transfer student with little knowledge about Hogwarts, a terribly inconvenient Parisian dialect, and a knack for touching things that definitely do 𝗻𝗼𝘁 belong to her. Finding herself drawn to him despite his inhospitable charm, Madeleine shall ultimately become the grand architect of her own personal prison. Sudden and involuntary bequeathment to the Malfoy family shield was definitely not the game plan. She is inevitably drawn deeper into a world darker than she'd ever imagined, and in order to navigate the shadows of her new apocalyptic life, she must discover the gift of 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲. ☙ Book Two: Obliviation ❧ ☙ Book Three: Aftermath ❧ ☙ Book Four: Supremacy ❧
