Violet is a young seventeen year old girl who is abused by her parents. She struggles every day to stay alive and to keep fighting. Nothing is easy when nobody likes her so she spends her time being alone
Her parents send her to a clinic who helps teens who have tried to commit suicided and need help to stop thinking about hurting others. She spends all of her senior year in the clinic trying to become a better person after trying to kill her parents by setting her house on fire.
She struggles everyday to stay out of her shadows that keep her from succeeding in life. The shadows that hide who she really is, a loving caring girl who wants to be better than what everybody says she says.
Nothing will ever be the same after she finds out she succeeded on trying to kill the only family she ever had; her parents.
