Shōto was homeschooled before UA. He doesn't visit his mother right after the sport festival, but later on. He covers his scar until the second half of 1st year. He doesn't get the provisional hero license at all. As he's a bit more of a delinquent while Izuku is much more well-behaved. The principal thought it would be a good idea to have Todoroki as Izuku's guide for the rest of the year to keep the both of them out of trouble.
