Make-up artists bustled around, slapping on ludicrous pastel colours and glitter on people's faces. Their faces were a blurred mask to the blonde boy sitting in the corner, observing them through brown eyes. A woman burst in through the door, yelling out something. For some odd reason, panic rushed through the rookie girl group situated a few metres away from him. As they hustled around for their tiaras and whatnot, nobody seemed to have noticed the famed young man on his own, secluded. Head bowed down slightly and right leg on top of the left, his eyes followed the girls under his brows. Glassy irises trailed their voluptuous figures, but the boy's mind was elsewhere.
"The Scarlet Girls! Please prepare for stand-by! Hyorin, hurry! There's nothing you can do about the eyeliner. I'm sorry." The bright-pink-haired girl flailed her arms around in panic and squeaked out something, her voice too high-pitched and stressed, with which the woman, most probably a PD, replied with an even more strident answer.
An uneasy silence settled over the lone boy, who now had only the vacant room to stare at.
This was only until he thought he heard a phone call interrupt his tainted thoughts...
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
