❝Blood must have blood.❞

Grounders believe in that one sentence. They let it rule their choices, their lives even.
It has always been their way of life and it probably always will be.

But are there children scared of death and brutality? There is one.

This is Valika's story about being a pariah within her people's walls and beyond them.

When the one part of her life she thought of as a constant is taken away by intruders, the once so scared grounder changes. The change doesn't only scare her, it rules her.

One sentence starts ruling her life.

❝My people's blood will be answered by the enemy's blood.❞

Can her people stop her? Can her friend stop her?
Or is it in the hands of the enemy to prove her wrong and save her broken soul?

edit (1/3/2018): i wrote this when i was 14 so please bare with me here lol. i'm currently thinking of rewriting this as the story contains a (in my opinion) toxic relationship that i feel is highly romanticized.

Her sister, Arlo Riv Kane, managed to convince her dad and the council that she needed to die in Hailey's place, allowing Hailey to live just as long as she did but in the Skybox. After her 21st birthday, which marked her fourth year in the Skybox, the council made a decision. They were going to send 100 delinquents to the ground as an experiment to see whether the level of radiation was survivable or not. In doing so, they managed to sentence almost all of them to an untimely death that was almost inevitable. With the idea of freedom, Hailey knows that she is never safe and that if weaknesses are shown, someone will use them against her. Will she be able to overcome her emotional and mental walls, even if it means that she'd be vulnerable? Being on the ground will change Hailey in ways that the people on the ark would never expect. She will find a better version of herself. Hailey will become what she was always meant to be, a warrior. "Āza!" Bellamy called as Clarke walked towards the grounder tied up and beaten, she had a knife in her hand and an angry look on her face. "What is on this!" She yelled, the Grounder recognized the power that radiated off of her; the power of a Commander. The grounder didn't speak he just looked her directly in the eyes and even though he knew that was dangerous. Clarke, growing angrier and desperate, picked up a different knife and stabbed the grounder in the hand, "Answer me!" She yelled, removing the knife and placing it to his neck. "Clarke, stop," Bellamy panicked, "there are some lines that if we cross them then we may never return." "Āza, he's seizing!" Raven yells from down the bottom floor. (Also I would just like to add that i have a lot of school work at the moment so Tjis book wont be updated regularly, however this may chnage. I will try to make the chapter a good (?) length in future if I am unable to Update on a regular basis)
