The day we all knew was coming has finally arrived. The zombie apocalypse is here. College students from middle-class fraternities are the first to go. No surprise there. Jay Lewis follows every lead she can find, trying to get to the heart of the matter so she can cover the whole story. The one thing she's not ready for? A group of humans whose brains and bodies are growing stronger rather than weaker. They fight back the zombies, use their superhuman intelligence to look for a cure, and provide much needed leadership for the dying world. They call themselves the Elementals, and Jay calls them the protagonists of her story. Maybe there's hope after all.
