Danielle Hillman is a young woman who resides in Briarcliff Asylum. She was admitted by her sister and brother after she showed certain tendencies that threatened their lives. While she stays here, she remains anti-social. That changes quickly though as she meets a young man who goes by the name of Kit Walker. The two begin to confide in each other, making their stay more tolerable. When an uncanny love begins to take place, all officials at the Asylum are desperate to stop it. Will they succeed?
