Mel Jackson is finally getting away from her abusive home. When a demon causes her plane to crash in the middle of the ocean, Mel learns about the world hidden from her from the stories her mysterious companion Jacen tells her as they drift in the middle of the ocean.
But for Jacen, this was just a routine job. Find the demon, kill the demon. When his demon kills about 300 people because Jacen failed his job, the guilt of it really gets to hboim. the only person who seems to be able to draw him out is the intriguing Melanie, who is the only other live person on the safety raft with him. When his feeling start to grow for her, will he let them, or will he force them down because of a girlfriend back home?

Clary Fray had turned 18 and she all of a sudden had her world turned upside down. First, her mother and Luc saying they had to have a serious talk with her, then seeing a boy covered in tattoos that apparently neither Simon or Marie could see, then killing some sort of demon-like thing with the 'family heirloom' that her mother called a 'stele', and there was so many other things going on that she could hardly keep track of them all. Then all of a sudden, she is thrusted into a world war of two worlds, the Shadowhunters world which was also the human one, and the Demon one. Then Clary finds out that she has an older sister, Ren Fairchild, who has the same powers she has, except more powerful. Ren is 3 years older then Clary and remembers the day she was dumped by their mother, like it was yesterday. Ren is clearly an able fighter, but can she fight a war, keep her little sister safe as well as her adopted siblings, and still uphold the oath she made to the Clave, while still saving the mother that abandoned her? While in London she learns many secrets of her past and present. Through this two book series Jordan tries to figure out who she is, and whether she can or wants to find the truth about her parents. Whether they actually did what they were accused of or if they were set up. There are many twists and turns in Jordan's life and it all started when she was sent to London. (I get the ideas of this book from Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series and from The Vampire Diaries along with other countless supernatural books and movies.)Terminé

The Portal transports them to 19th century Victorian England where they meet fellow Nephilim Jem, Will and the warlock Tessa. Shadowhunter Stories
The young shadowhunter Aleksa Monteverde, called Leksi, finds herself in the academy in Idris after her parabatai Annabeth Kingsmill was killed by a demon. She gets to know the kind Blake Pangborn with whom she gets along pretty well and they immediately become friends. But next to Blake there is a mysterious boy named Elijah Blackthorn who seems to hate everything and everybody. Stuck between a friend and a love interest, Aleksa is confronted with even greater problems. The Council brings the charge against her, that she wasn't present, when Annabeth Kingsmill died. They blame Aleksa for her death. While Aleksa tries everything to get over the loss of her parabatai and to get back to the institute in Montreal, she has to struggle with the Council and them wanting her to visit the City of Bones until the hearing. But her new won friends help her and Aleksa soon finds out the real reason she was held out of the investigations considering Annabeth's death and sent to Idris. The story takes place in an imagined academy, mentioned in the TMI books by Cassie. Since I love academies I had to write about a story happening here. But the story also sets in various places over the world and reunites some familiar places from the TMI books with new impressions. New characters are introduced and also some old and well-known characters will appear during the happenings.Terminé

This is a sequel to A Surprise and A Betrayal. If you haven't read that story go check it out first. Because it's a sequel, you won't understand most of the things happening here if you haven't read A Surprise and A Betrayal first.
