Still Hanging On

Leah Mallas is just like any other teenager with a bad life at home, lousy past experiences, and a mom who could care less about her opinion. After her parents split when she was just six years old, Leah depended on her older brother, Jake, to take care of her while their mother grieved. Once their father recieved placement of Jake, Leah realized that she was alone with her mother, and alone in facing the world. Four years later, Leah's mother re-married to a man named Charles, and had another daughter, Delilah. She does anything and everything to get under Leah's skin, and has their mom wrapped around her little finger. Now being 17, Leah depends on her friends to get her through the hell she calls her home life. She especially goes to her best guy friend, Jordyn, who's been there for her since first grade. In the middle of her Junior year in high school at Jefferson High in Airway Heights, Washington, she starts to develop feelings for him that she's never experienced before. Could this be a change in pace? She's always just thought of him as a friend, and now she's afraid that she might be falling in love with him. Maybe her new relationship status will help her mend some of the broken relationships she has at home... Or just tear them apart more.
