Forged by Thunder was the first true novel I wrote. The first sections came from a simple line, a guy telling a girl with fire powers that she was getting 'too hot-headed'. From that, the first two characters, Jace and Ezaria, were born, with many more to follow.
As my first true story, this is being posted as I complete each chapter. With that in mind, I humbly ask you to add your thoughts and impressions of what you have read, and I will happily accept ideas for improvement. Thank you for clicking on my story, and I hope you enjoy!

She offers Eira a job to work as a spy for her. Eira reluctantly agrees, knowing she has no other options. But the deal does not come without a price, to enter the fae kingdom, Eira must become fae. Now equipped with uncommon powers and other fae abilities, Eira is thrust into a world she's only ever heard fairy tales about. One's with evil kings and dark crowns and warriors made of wings and fire. There, she meets Sable Deidre, the king's killer. He is made of darkness and known for his brutality. Can she overcome her fear of this new life and the killer before her, or will his shadows swallow her whole? Gildarts found an orphaned girl, whom he's sure he's met before but can't recall when, and decides to bring her to the guild. Unaware that that very human being would change everything. Including Gray Fullbuster's heart. ***** Alexa pulled away. "That doesn't make any sense." "Neither does this." Gray said. "But I don't care. I'm sick of trying to pretend I can live without you. Don't you understand that? Can't you see it's killing me?" She stared at him. She could see he meant what he said, could see it in his eyes she knew as well as her own, in the brushed shadows under those eyes, the pulse pounding in his throat. Her desire for answers battle the more primal part of her brain, and lost. "Kiss me then." She whispered, and he pressed his mouth against hers, their hearts slamming together through the thin layers of wet fabric that divided them. And she was drowning in it, the sensation of him kissing her; of rain everywhere, running off her eyelashes; of letting his hands slide freely over the wet, crumpled fabric of her dress, made thin and clinging by the rain. It was almost like having his hands on her bare skin, her chest, her hips, her stomach; when he reached the hem of her dress, he gripped her legs, pressing her harder against the wall while she wrapped them around his waist. ***** Writing is pretty crap in the first few chapters, but I swear my vocabulary improved later on, so please bear with it! In JOS I set the rogue and con-artist Harric against a foil of warriors in a land threatened by magic and civil war. Whenever possible I turn familiar tropes on their heads: instead of a handsome young Lancelot, I cast a broken-down ex-champion addicted to pain-killing herbs; instead of a dashing Squire Brian, the old knight reluctantly takes an ambitious young woman as squire. Similarly, I re-imagine the standard medieval milieu by infusing aspects of two of my favorite historical periods, Elizabethan England, and The American Frontier. Both eras boast a kind of nationalistic arrogance that borders on hubris, and a magnificent spirit of resourcefulness and re-invention that is fun to play with. What if the White Witch had a little sister? What if she was immortal but had the power to become younger and older? She could also die if someone killed her. She had powers. Most of them had to do with Fire/Heat and Light, but she did have others. She didn't know if she had enough power to defeat her sister so she waited until Aslan came. On her way to Aslan she met Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy Pevensie. The two sons of Adam and the two daughters of Eve from the prophesy. There was also another part of the prophesy that stated someone with many powers of fire would help the humans, but without her they would not win. She had never used her powers in front of her elder sister or her followers so the White Witch had no idea that her own flesh and blood would be the one to help defeat her. This girl was friends everyone she met. She was that kind of person that you found yourself attracted to and trusting to. What happens when she starts falling for the eldest son of Adam from the prophesy? This is the story of Athena. She didn't have a last name so she named herself one. Her name was Athena Violet Evans. She went by Ali though. Some of her powers were: Atmokinesis - manipulate the weather by mixing water, fire, earth, air, and lightning/electricity. Pyrokinesis - create, control and manipulate fire, flame and heat. Melting - heat molecules to melt things. Thermokinesis - create, control and manipulate heat. Pyroportation - teleport or move though fire. Energy Blast - create blasts of energy. Photokinesis - create and manipulate pure light. Invisibility - be unseen. Projective Invisibility - turn other things invisible. **I don't own Narnia, all credit goes to C. S. Lewis and whoever made the movie Narnia.
