They had been walking among us for about a year now. We hadn't really figured out what had quiet happened yet. How did this happen? How did the world become like this? The smell of rotten flesh! The dead has awakened. The dead feed off humans, also known as the living. The thought of being eaten alive is a natural fear. Because it's your own species, it's even more terrifying.
