It's not my fault penny fell out of a tree. It's not my fault I flunked that math quiz, the teachers are out too get me. And last but not least, it's not my fault that dad left us for the hot blond that serves us pie. Fifteen year old Kira gets blamed for a lot of things, like her dad leaving them. Every time she gets blamed for something she wrights it in her blame book, counting down the days tell she goes to college. When her dad leaves the family her mom disused it was time for a change, so she moves the family to Ada, Oklahoma. With dad gone they can  finally get a puppy and stay up past bedtime. But when Kira gets a phone call from her dad asking her to come live with him she has to disuse for herself whether to stay or go.
