He put his head into his hands and it was silent. "Dammit!" He suddenly shouted, making me gasp. He punched the wall once with his fist--and then again, repeatedly. "Carter stop," I said. The wall vibrated under his knuckles. "Please, stop, please," my voice quivered. He glanced at me, chest heaving. He suddenly dropped to the ground in a crouch. "It would be so much easier...if I could just tell you..." *** 17 year old Emma Andrews is not ready to start a new life. After the sudden death of her mother, Emma has to move across the country to live with her dad, who abandoned her family a couple of years back.
